Soooo, I AM TRYING TO ORGANIZE MY VINTAGE JEWELRY...

And I had the nerve to contact one of my friends for more...can you imagine?

 But I am always on the look out for something I might need or use. So now, I can find nothing, like a hide and seek game very time I am in art mode. I have had these organizers, sitting mostly empty...so I decided to bring the stash down to the table and get this job done. It might take awhile....ok; I know it is going to take awhile. Any ideas or hints? What do you do with all of your supplies??

I'M PUBLISHED!!!!!!

Well, what a birthday present this is? I knew I had 1 piece being published in the 2010 issue of Somerset Studio Gallery. But I was thrilled to receive my official copy today and guess what, 3 pieces are featured. I even made the index.... Many of my friends have been published and I was lucky enough to be published with my "sister's" for the Sisterhood of the traveling canvas. I thank each and every one of them, for urging me to submit my work. I dragged my feet big time, fearing rejection, lol. So I am walking in the clouds today and I will soon grab me a cup of coffee and pour into every page of this magazine. I know my "sister" Nancy Lefko is in this issue as well, and I bet I find more friends in her too. Oh what a happy day....I am an official published artist now....

MIXED MEDIA MONDAY

The theme this week at Mixed Media Monday is I am woman.  So I am going to join in this fun and enter my journal.  I made this weekend, and I am thinking this sassy one is woman... This is a journal that celebrates the Big Easy, New Orleans.  I used an image from an old postcard featuring buildings in the French Quarter.  I had a stunning old hankie with this fabulous lace around it, so I used it in a few pieces this weekend.  The photo is beautiful...nude but classy.  Can't wait to see what you all come up with for this challenge.

An ARTFUL WEEKEND

What a nice weekend this has been. I had two full days of working in my art room; I got some new things made for my Etsy shop...wheels are turning about some holiday gifts. We had beautiful weather here in La. and that is a true blessing. Not to warm, no rain no humidity...I could take days like this all year long. But then, I would not appreciate this, right?

I have no clue what dinner will be, at this late hour with nothing in the works, maybe something like take out? I hope you all had a nice and relaxing, enjoyable weekend as well. Here are a few of my newest pieces.

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF....

I know I keep saying I must find time to blog...well I am saying it once again. I have to find a way to organize my time and still do all the things I want to do. You know what I think it is, I need to FOCUS! I do have a hard time slowing down and completing one task...anyways... so that is what the leaf is for.

And this little beauty...I have been watching for 2 months. I know things are priced to high in the antique shops. This was at my local consignment shop and they wanted 75.00 for it. It is a huge portrait and the frame is exquisite, just a bit of paint peeling from it...but no chips in it. I wanted to shell out the money right away, but I decided to take the change and wait. This shop reduces prices at 1, 2, 3 months. Lowest they go down is 50% off. So I did wait the 2 months for the 40% discount. Now she resides on my living room wall, and I adore her. It is just dreamy...

SOME NEW ART TO SHARE

Hello everyone...I have not blogged since Oct. 27th...OY!  I hope to surf blogland this evening and check up on you all.  I am playing with dolls again.  I am down to one Frozen Charlotte left for my art, I have one I am not parting with...lol.  So I will be checking out Etsy...do see if I can find some more.  As well as start Christmas shopping on Etsy...can't be November already, can it?
